Bozena Burkas

Beginnings: I have been playing the piano since I was 6 years old. The beginning was rough and time consuming, but the result exceeded my expectations. That is why I don't regret the time spent with this instrument. Piano became a part of my life and soul.

Music Education: I was raised in Minsk, Belarus and here started my adventure with music. I've attended music school for 7 years. Afterwards, I studied in a specialised piano academy for gifted children on a pre-conservatory program. To broaden my musical experience, I have also chosen as a second instrument the guitar. That was something completely new for me, but it helped me to understand the music even deeper than before. After the graduation from music and art school I continued to practice and attended training course at the Central Washington University. The next important step in my career was co-working with Polish embassy in Minsk. This experience led to composing 10 music pieces and recording a CD.

Experience: I have 10 years experience in being a music instructor. That's not only piano lessons, it's also theory of music, history of music, vocal and orchestral projects. I've worked with students from all around the world - most of them attended the American School of Warsaw and the British School of Warsaw. Since 2023 due to our family move I started giving private piano classes in Zürich area and grow my piano school. The idea is not only to teach how to play the right notes and to know the main composers, but I also want my students to feel the music, to be able to find out what the idea of an art piece is. It is also very important for me to encourage a child to find his is own style of playing. From my point of view there are no people deaf to music, just people who aren’t acquainted with music, till now! It is well known that music classes are not only pleasant, but as well music classes are very helpful and important in a child’s education and development. Kids who play instruments learn languages faster and more productively, focus better, and it has been shown perform better in math and science. My own experience and that of my students shows me that music has a positive effect on a student's overall education results.

Moreover, music is not just an art, it is language of the soul, waiting to speak for your child's feelings and moods.
